Most stories have a protagonist with pre-established interests that relate to the plot, giving them helpful knowledge on their journey. Flynn, however, got saddled with the contradictory position of being the protagonist of a science fiction story despite having no interest in technology or physics. He might as well be a cowboy who doesn’t know or care about horses.
